Geography
Aim
We believe that our Geography Curriculum should inspire our children to be curious, fascinated about and caring towards our world. We want our children to understand where they live in relation to other parts of the world, whilst at the same time gaining knowledge about places, people and key features of the landscapes.
At St. Joseph's, our Geography Curriculum draws from the National Curriculum. Key concepts form the basis of our curriculum; location, place, features (physical and human), map skills and fieldwork. Children study one topic each term, covering three topics across each academic year with one topic being UK based and the two others based on other places in the world. Within each topic, there is a focus on human and physical features of the locality being studied.
