You belong here! We have been celebrating each one of our students and the unique gifts and talents they bring to the class. We have been writing compliments to each other and working on making each other feel appreciated.

We would like to work on our Oracy skills, so we would encourage the children to bring in items to talk about. This could be a favourite book or a picture of something important to them.

Autumn Term

Swimming is on Mondays and PE is on Tuesdays
In English, our first class texts were Masha and the Firebird and Tar Beach.
In reading lessons, we have been enjoying a fantastic book called Adventure Mice: Otter Chaos and our next book will be Hotel Flamingo.
In Science, we have been learning about Teeth and the Digestive System.
In History, we are learning about the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings.
During October we celebrated Black History Month and looked at a wonderful poem called Undefeated.

Invasion Topic

In the Invasion project, your child will explore the effects of the Roman withdrawal and the chronology and geography of subsequent invasions. They will study the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings in detail, examining their reasons for invading, their settlements and their everyday life. Your child will also look at monasteries and the Anglo-Saxon legacy. They will consider how we know about life in this period and investigate the Sutton Hoo ship burial. They will learn about Athelstan, an Anglo-Saxon king, and what happened after his death, before ending the project by learning about the Norman invasion of 1066.
