Design and Technology

Aim

We believe that teaching Design Technology will enable our children to actively contribute to the creativity, culture, wealth and well-being of themselves, their community and society in general. Design Technology teaches how to take risks and so become more resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable.

At St Joseph's, our Design Technology Curriculum topics teach the key skills of designing, making and evaluating, whilst at the same time introducing children to technical language to use across the subject, drawing from the National Curriculum. When designing each product, emphasis is placed on the values, needs and wants of the end user.
