E-Bridge: Two Languages, New Friendships

E-Bridge connects our Year 6 pupils at St. Joseph's with children at Colegio Santo Ángel in Spain. Through handwritten letters, creative activities and planned video calls, pupils use Spanish and English for a real purpose: getting to know one another.

From the first ¡Hola! to discovering shared interests, our journey is about building confidence, exploring another culture and creating new friendships.

Meet Our E-Bridge Ambassadors

Every friendship starts with an introduction!

Meet our Year 6 E-Bridge Ambassadors! Each pupil has designed their own avatar to practise describing their physical appearance in Spanish. These avatars form part of their E-Bridge identity cards, combining creativity, language learning and personal introductions to their new friends in Spain.

Our First Letters

In their first handwritten letters, our Year 6 pupils introduce themselves in Spanish, sharing their interests and bringing their personalities to life through colourful drawings. Writing to children at our partner school gives their Spanish a genuine purpose and helps them build meaningful connections beyond the classroom.

More than Words

E-Bridge brings classroom Spanish into the real world. Through the project, pupils practise introducing themselves, expressing preferences and asking questions, then build on these skills as the exchange develops.

Our aim is to nurture confident communication, curiosity about life in Spain and respect for different experiences — while discovering how much we have in common.
