Word and PowerPoint for Android and iOS

Versions of Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint are available for free for both android and Apple iOS phones and tablets.

Couple a smartphone or tablet with an inexpensive bluetooth keyboard with a touchpad such as this one available on Amazon.co.uk for £14.95 and you have an inexpensive little computer for school work. If you have a PC or a Mac and do not have Microsoft Office, OpenOffice below is a better solution.

OpenOffice

OpenOffice is a free to use, fully featured office suite that you can download and run on your Mac or PC. It allows opening of Microsoft Office documents such as Word and PowerPoint. It is highly recommend to install it if you have a Mac or PC and do not have access to Microsoft Office.

Twinkl

Twinkl is offering every teacher in England access to all Twinkl resources with a One Month Ultimate Membership, free of charge. They're also extending this offer to every parent/carer in our school, so pupils can access high-quality learning materials from home.

Joe Wicks has offered to become "the nation's PE teacher" following the closure of schools in the UK amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Audible

Free children's audio books. Audible have kindly made a lot of children's audio books and classics free to listen to. No login required. 

Author of Tomorrow: Adventure Writing Competition for children, teens, and young adults

The Author of Tomorrow is designed to find the adventure writers of the future. Part of the Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize, it is an annual competition open to young people across the world who have completed a short piece of adventure writing in English.
